Vinča symbols*, a mark in the loam
A clay pigeon, wet weathervanes -
He who seeks what he needs shall find it; the world is eternal because it has a meaning.
And it resurrects in the flame, moist
And the announcement. The world is an ancient, unreliable
Symbol - which we, to this day, use -
And so we read it day by day,
We, the last ones to read the first meaning,
And we try to figure out its vengeful meaning,
We, convicts, forced to decipher
The given symbols which threaten us with meaning
Shining out of its every letter. While doing so, we repeat -
Sometimes, in the air, when it's summer,
You can almost feel the merciful, heavenly rose -
And that's a sign, but you've got to remember the basis:
Vinča symbols, a mark in the loam.
Vinča symbols - set of undeciphered symbols, part of the Vinča culture, Neolithic archeological culture of Southeastern Europe.
